By showing up consistently before it pays off. Mona Juneja grew from 5,000 to 15,000 followers by posting every day, and nobody engaged in the early days. Consistency plus experimenting is what compounds.

Quick Answer

  • Growth didn't happen overnight. Mona went from 5,000 to 15,000 followers through consistency.
  • In the early days, nobody liked or commented. She kept posting anyway.
  • What works for one person may not work for you, so experiment to learn your audience.

How Mona grew her following

Mona Juneja, founder of Bearconnect, spent her corporate years posting her employer's content, never her own voice. When she went out on her own, she started posting manually, daily, at 8 a.m. from Amsterdam.

"Gradually I increased my followers from 5,000 up to 15,000. It didn't happen overnight. I had to be really consistent. In the initial few days, nobody liked or commented. So I had to experiment with what kind of post really works on LinkedIn." — Mona Juneja

The most important caveat is that there's no copy-paste formula.

"Whatever works for me might not work for you. So you have to really experiment with who your target audience is." — Mona Juneja

The takeaway: commit to showing up before you see results, and treat your early posts as experiments to learn what your specific audience responds to.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long did it take Mona to grow her LinkedIn following?

Keep posting. Mona says nobody liked or commented in the initial days, and she used that period to experiment with what kind of content actually works for her audience.

Is there a formula for what to post on LinkedIn?

No. Mona stresses that whatever works for her might not work for you, so you have to experiment and learn who your target audience is.

So I have 20-plus years of experience in the sales industry. My background is in sales, and three years ago I started my own entrepreneur journey. But when I had a nine-to-five job, I never really posted on LinkedIn, because what I was doing was posting my company's content, my employer's content. I was afraid that if I post my own voice, what would my employer think? So that's where a lot of nine-to-fivers are, not able to post and express their opinion. So when I started my own entrepreneur journey, I started posting manually. At that time I used to live in Amsterdam, so I used to post every day at 8 a.m. And gradually I increased my followers from 5,000 up to 15,000. It didn't happen overnight. I had to be really consistent. In the initial few days, nobody liked or commented. So I had to also experiment with what kind of posts really work on LinkedIn, and whatever works for me might not work for you. Really experiment with who your target audience is. But I think it's very important to build your personal brand on LinkedIn.
